this song just touched me....the break melts my heart
I'm not sure how long its been since I originally posted this song but...Its really helped me. The first few times I listened to it i cried. I thought of of a past relationship. What I missed about it and what hurt me emotionally. I cried because I lack that love now. I cried because I was scared to feel, allow myself to fall in love or be hurt again....this song has been on repeat since then and now..there are no more tears. When i hear the break I invision a new love and I'm so happy. I'm excited to find a love that makes me feel this song even more.

shower creativity
So I was in the shower and I started singing. When in the shower I am a philosopher and a recording artist. I started belting out this miley cyrus type song. I guess it would be called “I’m not a singer”. It was HOT I wish I had a recorder in the shower. I had a melody, hook and 2 verses I think. I came up with everything on the spot. I hope I can get it back once I actually try to pen it. That has potential to be a number #1 hit on Disney lol seriously. I have no clue where that came from though. Never thought Id be the type to pen a pop song. Hey…music is music. I should invest in a hand recorder because I tend to come up with stuff on the spot and once I try to write it down I lose it all. If I remember it later on its never what I originally came up with. It would be great if Ryan Leslie, Keri Hilson, and Ne-yo had programs where they mentored upcoming songwriters and musicians. Id love to watch those three in a studio and witness how they come up with songs. Learn how to express myself through lyrics. I should pick up a dictionary and up my vocabulary.

VMAs
I only watched this year because of Janet. I HAD to see her tribute to her brother and of COURSE she tore it DOWN! it brought tears to my eyes watching her perform SCREAM with her brother. I cant WAIT to see the "this is it" movie..I'm going to be a mess.
kanye...I seem to be one of 4 people who isnt getting on kanye about what he did.
I wish people would open their eyes to kanye. nobody ever stops to read into his actions. he does it every year because the same bullshit happens EVERY YEAR. hes an advocate. just like with the george bush doesnt care about black people thing. nobody complained about that he was RIGHT. he says what nobody else will because they are scared and afraid of what the masses will think. screw that...okay yeah it was wrong of him to get up on stage during the awards show fine but whatever. If I were an artist I wouldnt take the VMA's seriously. The seasonal new artist snatches all the awards and the people who should get recognition never do. If you win just know that little girls between the ages of 12-17 LOVE YOU! NEXT
Lady Gaga is too out there for me. I wouldnt let me kids watch her perform.

Top 5 Musical Influences
Top 5 musical influences!
1. Danity Kane's "Right Now" . it was produced by timbaland. the first time that i heard that song i was waiting for the train on my way to (high) school. now im a music head and ive been listening to music since i was in the womb. but there was something about this song that stopped my heart. it brought me to tears and i knew from that point on, i wanted to create something so powerful that would make anybody's heart drop. i want to be able to create something and move myself to tears. that BASS hit me so hard and i felt it throughout every inch of my body. my brother is also into music and when we were talking i mentioned that song and he agreed with me. i had watched making the band and loved the whole process. from being in the studio to vocal training. I even downloaded the rough copy of one of their songs because i loved how raw it was.
2. My Aunt. She took me to my first concert when I was like 8 or something I cant remember, I just know that I was really young . It was Miss Patti LaBelle. I loved every minute of it. People say that I'm an old soul. My aunt exposed me to Will Downing, Lalah Hathaway, Anita Baker, Christopher Williams, Incognito. I am forever grateful for that. I love R&B and Neo-Soul. It just fits. Thats how my aunt and I bonded. Over music. We used to pretend to be background singers. She has the BEST speakers in her house. When she isnt home. I'll take a cd over there and lose my MIND.
3. For some odd reason I bought the last N.E.R.D album "Seeing Sounds". It was the first time that I listened to an ENTIRE album from beginning to end. Two songs got to me. "Sooner or Later" and "Love Bomb". "Sooner or later" brought tears to my eyes. It opened me up. Whatever I was going through at that time I was able to let it go and for those 6 minutes and 42 seconds I was vulnerable. "Its over...leave it" Those 4 words meant so much and I will forever admire NERD for that. Ive always loved them but this song did it for me. The part in the song where they are just repeating that "..its over...leave it"target="_blank" (scroll to 3:40) over and over and the guitar is going and its just amazing. That song just released me. "Love Bomb" just sounds like a beautiful love song to me. I used to dance and everytime I hear this song I dance in my head and perform. Choreography comes to me and for a SPLIT second i fix myself to dance but no lol . I'm a sucker for a nice bridge.
4. Finger Lakes Community College. First college I attended FRESH out of High School. I was never too amped about going to school. (I'm not a book person) BUT i was excited about finally studying music. My major was Music Recording Technology. Being that I didnt know how to read or write music I had to take the introduction courses; music theory, music comprehension, learning pitch and all of that good stuff. THIS WAS HARD. I didnt think music would require so much. DAMN i shouldve learned while I was young. At first it was going good and THEN it got tough. Its like science. You have to know so many forumulas. Be able to write out notes. Scales.....JUST SO MUCH!
Luckily I made friends with my RA Joi, who so happened to be in the same program. She was a senior in the program so she had access to the studio and she let me tag along. I became her assistant and I learned alot. I enjoyed being in the studio more so than learning the E scale. I was able to be creative and my voice was heard. They started to call me Diddy because I was so blunt and straight forward with my opinions. Being up near rochester, NY I was exposed to alot. I learned to appreciate live music especially drummers. MAN! I go crazy when I see or hear sick drumming. Because of Finger Lakes I recorded my own interlude, wrong a song, helped produce and arrange a few songs and left with memories and experiences that I wouldnt trade in for the world.
5. Michael Joseph Jackson. He is music. I cant even start on him. Its because of him that I LOVE janet. If I had to choose it would be Michael though lol. I remember watching his concert in bucharest on tv crying. Now that I look back on it, I couldnt even tell you why I was crying. Michael Joseph Jackson. The name itself is powerful. I miss him dearly. R.I.P
